The Big Bear Hideaway

Tomorrow begins the taxidermy adventure.  I start at 8am sharp.  Frankly, I can’t wait.  Until then, we are staying in the Black Bear Bungalow at the Big Bear Hideaway.  (Do you sense a theme?)  The place is amazing.  The owner is a builder with his own saw mill.  All of the cabins are built with wood felled on the property.  He told Walter that he designed the buildings in his head and never drew up plans.  Every detail from the door handles, to the furniture, to the spool of wood holding the toilet paper has been hand-crafted.  His wife Mary said to me “never say drywall around Joe. . ..”  My current and former students will attest to the fact that I am a stickler for details.  (They will roll their eyes as they tell you this).  I am frankly amazed.  A+
